Great News on April 1st!

Today the Small Business Act becomes law.

We welcome the efforts to streamline public procurement by removing barriers to entry, in the hope that smaller businesses can gain better and more direct access to public sector contracts. At present an estimated 10% of government contracts go to smaller firms, so the Small Business Act should be great news for small businesses which can deliver services as well, if not better than national organisations.

We highlight this fact with feedback from our own customers. There have been too many examples of multi-nationals mopping up national public sector contract contracts and then fail to deliver value for money, or worse – remember the tagging scandal where two multinationals were accused of charging for the tagging of people who were either dead or in jail?
