Topwood is planning for the arrival of another new shred truck expected end Jun-17. As with the exising trucks in the fleet it will have high security shredding but also some new features.
With the steady growth of its security shredding business since 2010, Topwood Ltd has agreed the purchase of another Shred Tech MDX mobile shredding truck. The X is for cross cut – the shredder has the latest generation of cross cut technology.
On-site shredding; when documents and data are destroyed at the customers’ premises’ is what organisations across Shropshire and along the M54 corridor are increasingly specifying to protect themselves against ID theft and corporate fraud. On-site data destruction is done in full view of the customer and the shredded documents are taken away in the truck for recycling into useful paper products.
When on-site the operator simply engages the high security cross cut mode which shreds documents to DIN level 3. Destruction to DIN 3 is required for the most sensitive of information including NHS records and restricted MoD documents.
Managing Director Tom Gilruth says “ we currently have shredding vehicles in Shropshire 3-4 times per week and an another MDX shred truck will offer even greater customer flexibility. The on-site hard drive destruction function will mean customers can witness the destruction of their hard drives at the same time as their paper documents are shredded”.
The shredder, which can destroy up to 2500kg of paper per hour at the rate of around 150 archive boxes per hour, is powered by a Euro 6 emissions compliant engine making it compliant for urban operation in the towns such as Shrewsbury, Telford and Wolverhampton”
Topwood Ltd will recruit and train an extra driver and driver’s mate in time for the truck to enter service in June 2017.
